Gustav is an innovative bit that can be used in two different ways, depending on your horse's needs: with tongue relief or with bar pressure. 

For tongue relief – If your horse:

• Has uneven contact with the bit
• Raises its head or evades when taking the reins
• Tries to put its tongue over the bit
• Is sensitive and restless in the mouth

For bar pressure – Turn the bit upside down if your horse:

• Has uneven contact and feels stiff to ride
• Bites the bit or tries to pull it back
• Does not seek forward to the bit
• Loses contact or falls behind the hand
