Kep helmets come in two different outer shell sizes, Medium or Large. The size is adjusted by attaching an inner pad. The Medium shell fits inner pads 51 – 58 and the Large shell fits inner pads 59 to 62.
The inner pads are available in two different designs depending on head shape, oval or round. The oval pad is slightly more padded on the sides than the round one to ensure the helmet sits securely on the head. The size may feel 1-2 sizes smaller with the oval pad.
The fit of the helmet is very important for it to feel comfortable and to provide the best possible protection. To find your size, measure the circumference of your head above the ears to the middle of the forehead with a measuring tape.
- Ventilation: The patented “Air Control System” developed by KEP allows you to regulate the ventilation in the helmet, ensuring it always feels comfortable and cool.
- Weight: The lightweight material of the helmet means that a helmet from KEP usually weighs around 400 grams.
- Lining: The inner padding in the helmet is easily replaceable, allowing for a larger or smaller size to be created without needing to buy a new helmet. The inner padding can be washed at 30 degrees and extra inner pads are easy to purchase.
- Chin strap: The helmet has a patented five-point buckle, which prevents the helmet from moving forward. The chin strap is made of anti-allergic and washable soft leather and is easy to adjust.
- Cleaning: The KEP helmet comes with a protective helmet bag and a KEP-clean polishing cloth, with which the helmet can be easily cleaned.
In the Cromo 2.0 helmets, there is a small plastic frame included that you can put in place when you remove the regular visor. For example, if you are going to ride cross-country and ride without a visor.
